Big track entices Team Feek

Thursday night's Pakenham meeting sees Feek Racing with one runner, MISS ENTICE, lining up in the Fillies and Mares Handicap over 1400m at 8pm. The 3yo daughter of Dash For Cash is having just her fourth career start after finish 3 lengths off them at Bendigo over a mile almost a month ago.

The step back in trip is for a number of reasons with the blinkers going on and further race experience a major factor in targeting tonights race.

'She is a filly who will appreciate a mile and a quarter with time, however the big galloping track and the fact we've put the blinkers on is why we are back at 1400m this week'.  Said David Feek on Tuesday morning after Miss Entice worked.

'She is still learning her craft and I am confident she will furnish in to a nice staying filly for us. This race will be further experience for her and I am hoping the blinkers will just relax her a little so that she can settle and finish the race off'.

'I worked her in blinkers over 1200m on the grass here last Thursday and it was her best piece of work. The big track suits and I think she'll be highly competitive tonight, giving us confidence going forward to a mile plus in time'.

Clayton Douglas rides Miss Entice having partnered the filly in two of her three runs to date.

'We jump from the outside gate on Thursday, however I don't mind been drawn out with the blinkers on for the first time. She can just jump where she is comfortable and Clayton can settle where he lands and just keep her nice and smooth in her action and breathing'. Said David Feek

'We will aim to finish off and hopefully run in to the money. Off her work it wouldn't surprise me to see her right in the race'.

'There are a few who are knocking on the door to breakthrough so it'll come down to a bit of luck in running and whether or not we're looking for a bit further'.

Miss Entice is the only runner for Team Feek this week as a number of the brigade starting to get deep in to their training and ready to trial in the coming weeks.

'We have a couple of nice horses like Senor Alf trialling next week so I am looking forward to next few months with Alf and the likes of Zoffany Rose also getting back to the races'. Said training partner Coral Feek.
